Success to Suicide: Sushant Singh Rajput

Image
He  was 34, ambitious, introvert, entrepreneur, talented....depressed. Yes I'm talking about Sushant Singh Rajput, who was found dead in his Mumbai flat on the unfateful morning of June 14, 2020. It has been a year when this unfateful incident took place. The mystery is still unresolved after a year of investigation. The social media was flooded with rumors/stories related to his sudden death and sky rocketed their TRPs. This was as difficult for anyone else as his family to digest the fact that he could take his own life....what made him do so if he did??? There are thousands of teenagers in our country who are forced to do engineer because engineering seems to be the only respectful degree which will earn you a good rapport and a filthy rich in laws if you are a boy....forget about the job. Many Indian parents does not help their kids to realize their passion and they sabotage their dreams much before they start to germinate.  Sushant was an intellectual person who ha...

A letter to my dead classmate

A letter to my dead classmate...the very reason why I created this blog and my fb page asksonia9081 .  I lost my classmate to depression few years ago. We stayed in the same hostel on the same floor. We belonged to the same city and  shared same first name too. She had also given me a special name ....sizzling sonia while hosting a freshers party. She was chirpy, well mannered and came from a good family. Her parents were doctors. What I repent most today is why i didn't notice her depression.  Why didn't I try to speak to her. Why we were just classmates and nothing beyond that. With this letter, I pay my deepest tribute to her...May she rest in peace! Dear Sonia,  I hope you are doing good in the other world! I pray to God to keep you close and strengthen your soul.  After your death, things didn't change much. We all finished our exams and degree however with little low grades as some of us were devastated by your death.  I have no news about your paren...

7 tips to maintain digital well being

Image
If you were born in the 80s or even before, you were blessed. The technology was human's slave back then and today we have become technology's slave. Our parents never had to worry about our digital well being. In today's world digital well being is as important as physical well being. We should make sure we follow some ground rules especially with children to decrease the screen time and its effect on their behavior.  1.Control - Practice getting a control over your urge to check your phone/computer frequently.  If there is something urgent, people will call you, they will not wait after sending you a text or email. The number of likes on Facebook or Instagram won't decrease by checking them every 2 mins though it will increase and checking them again and again won't make any difference. It will only make you skip a few beats which is not good for your heart. 2.Indulge - You have tens of things around you to indulge. Just put your phone down and talk to your collea...

Don't wait to ask for help

A late night post...the thought had been bothering me from quite sometime. We all need help at some or other point of our life. However it takes a lot of courage to actually ask for one. Ironically people who think of them as one man army as if they don't need anyone, terribly need help. They are so hopelessly helpless that they can not even recognize this. My request to all those who are reading this especially women who are over worked, stressed, depressed, holding their sentiments...take a deep breath and look around, may be you need some help....call out just once. You will be amazed at the fact how many people are standing beside you to hug you, help you, listen to you and provide ease to your blocked sentiments. Tonight take out sometime from your busy lives, just pick up the phone and talk(don't text....its emotionless) to someone who might need help and hesitating to ask for it. Be someone's light....be there for someone! Good night #asksoniya #youarenotalone ...

8 D's of Decluttering

We are almost at end of this year. To start the next year we have to be ready with more space in our house and mind. I am sharing few tips to declutter your house to welcome the new year with clean and fresh mind. Decluttering is a therapeutic way of clearing our space and our brain at the same time. So here we go... Tip no. 1: Decide - When you start decluttering, make up your mind in order to decide quickly what to keep and what to bin. Believe me this is the most difficult decision if you have things piling up from the past and you are attached to them. Keep one rule in mind...when you feel stuck ask yourself...What value this particular object/sentiment/people add to my life in next 1 year? You get your answer. Try decluttering/organising your fb friend list using this tips.😛 Tip no.2 -Divide : If you have small apartment, you dont need much time. Just divide your time in hours. And if you have a big house, you need to denote one day each to declutter different items.  T...

Your question speaks about you

After reading this blog, you will become a little more conscious and thoughtful about the way you ask questions. Your question may unknowingly disclose your personality in front of others and make you look like a dumb or an intellect. In this article I will cover types of people based on their questions. The childish ones-  You remember when you were a kid what questions did you ask your parents. The world is naive for a kid so the questions they ask are full of curiosity.  Researchers say we should encourage our kids to ask questions and try to answer them however some kids dont have parents with enough patience hence they dont get their answers in childhood. These kids when become adults, they tend to ask the same questions but in a different context. You can recognize them by a typical modulation of voice which unintentionally shows their curiosity while asking something. It is very important to satisfy the curious cat inside them at first place otherwise they can bom...
