Success to Suicide: Sushant Singh Rajput
He was 34, ambitious, introvert, entrepreneur, talented....depressed. Yes I'm talking about Sushant Singh Rajput, who was found dead in his Mumbai flat on the unfateful morning of June 14, 2020. It has been a year when this unfateful incident took place.
The mystery is still unresolved after a year of investigation. The social media was flooded with rumors/stories related to his sudden death and sky rocketed their TRPs. This was as difficult for anyone else as his family to digest the fact that he could take his own life....what made him do so if he did???
There are thousands of teenagers in our country who are forced to do engineer because engineering seems to be the only respectful degree which will earn you a good rapport and a filthy rich in laws if you are a boy....forget about the job. Many Indian parents does not help their kids to realize their passion and they sabotage their dreams much before they start to germinate.
Sushant was an intellectual person who had a passion for dancing. He wanted to study astrophysics however opted out of his engineering course in the final year to follow his passion for acting and dance. I assume his parent's were pretty cool and supportive at that time as they allowed him to pursue his career in film industry....some friction I would not deny though. Moreover he successfully achieved what he wanted to before dying.
His close friends blame his death to nepotism. Did he become a victim of it? I don't know but I read somewhere..."One of the risks of being quiet is that the other people can fill your silence with their own interpretation: You’re bored. You’re depressed. You’re shy. You’re stuck up. You’re judgemental. When others can’t read us, they write their own story—not always one we choose or that’s true to who we are."
Nepotism had always been there in Indian Film Industry...it has engulfed some potential artists who were introverts at first place and a threat to napotism gallery how they perceive it.Sushant never took any bullshit from anyone as he was confident about his talent. Some people mistook it as his arrogance and cornered him by trolling him on social media. His self esteem was charred clearly....he couldn't fit in there....he couldn't stand against it as well.
I don't really know whether it was a suicide or a murder nor I want to pass any judgement though one thing no one can deny....He was depressed and it takes only a single weak moment for a depressed person to end his life.
Sushant...where ever you are in the sky full of stars...May you rest in peace and shine brightly in space with your mother!
